Mechanical Design Engineer Northampton £DoE

Huxley Engineering and a Northampton-based Global Engineering Leader in Bespoke Mechanical Solutions for Numerous Industries (Industrial, Automotive, Emergency Vehicles, Off-Highway) are looking to recruit a Mechanical Design Engineer on a permanent basis, owing to succession planning within the organisation.

Reporting into the Engineering Design Manager, the Mechanical Design Engineer will be responsible for New Product Development of Automotive & Industrial Applications (New Product Development Products), from concept brief through to production.

Working with customers in different industries and designing Mechanical Solutions for Challenging & Demanding environments, the Mechanical Design Engineer will be an integral-part of a multi-disciplinary tea that design & manufacture solutions for a whole-host of requirements and need to combine innovative design ability with a high personal drive to see a project through from a Customer Specification or Marketing Brief through to production.

Specifically, this Engineering Company are looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer who possesses the following:

* Degree Qualified in Mechanical Engineering (or similar).

* Design & Analysis / Calculation experience (Stress / Strain / Load Calculations etc).

* Minimum 2 years Mechanical Design Engineering experience in relevant industry (high / medium volume manufacturing eg. Automotive components manufacture, Consumer goods)

* Practical engineering aptitude is a must (with personal interests to reinforce this).

* Working knowledge of ISO9001, TS16949, PPAP, APQP, DVP, FMEA's, SPC etc is an advantage.
