Expanding and profitable financial organisation is looking for a talented Technical Architect with experience of designing high-throughput applications from scratch which will make use of both Linux based Java/Open source and Windows/.Net/ C# based stacks.

This is a medium sized organisation (300 people) so they are not looking for a high level only, enterprise architect as the emphasis is more on someone to design end to end solutions for a number of business areas, enabling the high speed calculations and processing of financial data. Understanding of the underlying languages and technologies (Java, C#, Python, AWS, Azure etc.) is therefore important.

You will be business facing, working with Quants and Analysts, so need excellent communication and stakeholder management skills as well as the ability to work closely with development and DevOps to ensure they are delivering on your vision and the ultimate business goals and functionality. This will involve leadership and mentoring skills as a key player within IT, setting direction, evaluating current state and future state architectures and defining the road map of how to get there.

This role would suit someone from a development background who has architected and designed data-centric, real-time systems (not necessarily financial, could be telecoms, air-traffic control etc) with detailed experience of designing Linux and/or .Net based, data-centric solutions. Ideally, you will know both and the integration/interoperability aspects involved and knowledge of current architectural trends is useful in areas such as microservices, Cloud architecture and strategy (AWS, Azure etc) and Containers (Docker etc)
