In this role you will take responsibility for managing the Health and Safety compliance at the company. You will set high standards and manage processes, training, advising and communications with employees.

The ideal candidate will have a responsible attitude and professional approach to work. You will be comfortable with communicating at all levels and challenge the status quo. The ability to make sound judgements under pressure is essential. We work as a team and your ability to work collaboratively with others as well as lead and motivate is a key part of this role.

The role:

*Drive a safety culture at all levels of the business.

*Complete site-specific risk assessments and consider how risks can be reduced and incorporated into Safe Working Systems.

*Carry out COSHH assessments

*Ensure that working practices are safe and comply with current legislation

*Undertake regular reviews of policies, procedures and recommending changes where necessary.

*Lead a monthly Health and Safety meeting

*Investigate, record all accidents, incidents and near misses and feedback to the management team on a regular basis.

*Support the maintenance manager with regular checks on compressors, fire arrangements, air, noise and vibration monitoring.

*Identify Health and Safety training needs and prepare & deliver accredited training for staff. Deliverance of training would follow an accredited RoSPA training program.

*Ensure that all employees work in a healthy and safe environment including young workers, vulnerable employees and expectant mothers.

The person:

*Ability to maintain accurate records

*Relevant & recognised qualification in Health and Safety and up to date knowledge of legislation and standards.

*Experience within manufacturing is essential.

*Apprenticeship or qualifications in Mechanical/Production Engineering would also be an advantage.
