The role is based in Basingstoke on a 3-6 month contract.

Key Accountabilities

* Creates test cases and identifies test data in response to clearly defined requirements. Includes the creation of test cases in areas of technical testing specialism.

* Executes test cases and records test results in accordance with established test plan(s). Includes the execution of test cases in areas of technical testing specialism.

* Test results checking and reporting.

* Test Incident (Defect) logging, investigation and support.

* Collects testing related measurements and metrics.

* Organizes test materials, environments, tools and resources required to deliver the planned testing activities and co-ordinates the delivery of testing against the schedule, reporting test progress, risks and test incidents and collecting test measurements and metrics.

* Creates high quality test plan documents on small to medium projects or discrete pieces of work that address the requirements and mitigate the risks of the solution under test.

* Accountable for the deliverables of the test team for a small project to agreed schedule.

* Understands the requirements for testing within the project and agrees testing scope with stakeholders.

Tester to work under the Test Manager and support system testing of the migrated equipment from Hook to BSN01

This role requires an experienced Test Engineer to deliver verification of patch release Testing and Acceptance of the Maritime Live Service support service

Working closely with the Test team, Solution Designers, other delivery team members and customer representatives, the successful candidate will use their wealth of Testing Experience to deliver: clarification of the solution requirements; Test Scripting and execution activities, defect management and reporting. The candidate shall have excellent stakeholder Management and communication skills will demonstrable experience of successfully representing the test capability within senior project and governance forums

The candidate will be required primarily to have a technical knowledge of testing Microsoft office productivity and server patches, its WSUS delivery systems and Sophus supporting antivirus products. Knowledge of the associated LC2 and Citrix application hosting infrastructure would be key to working in this role. The candidate should be proficient in delivery within highly secure environment

Job Purpose and Accountabilities:

* Reviewing Requirements and Design Documents to agree test content

* Contribute to test planning and scheduling activity

* Production and execution of Test Scripts and communications with customer representatives to gain approval

* Produce defect information, Test Reports, summarising the testing performed and results.

* Participate in informal and formal reviews of the above.

* Support demonstrations and trials (in-house and on site).

Key Performance Indicators

* Produces accurate test cases that address clearly defined requirements.

* Produces test cases with an appropriate level of technical detail for the target audience responsible for test execution.

* Good familiarity with testing tools.

* Uses risk to identify where more or less testing is required based on testing outcomes.

* Produces clear and unambiguous test plans that address project requirements and risks and contribute to test strategy.

* Effectively communicates the testing strategy and plans throughout the project & customer teams.

* Successfully delivers all testing activities in the test plans within forecast and timescale constraints.

Mandatory Skills Required:

* ISEBISTQB Intermediate or Advanced Certification in Software Testing.

* Demonstrable testing specialisation in Test Management and experience in managing a team of up to 20 testers.

* Demonstrable experience of stakeholder management abilities and supporting customer relationships.

* Effective communication skills.

* Good knowledge of project management.

* Demonstrable understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle, Testing Life Cycle and Defect Life Cycle as described in the BMS.

* Experience of writing test artefacts from all levels of the testing lifecycle, but particularly test approach and test strategy.

* Experience of requirements management.

* Experience of risk management.

* Experience of defect management.

* Ability to provide accurate estimates.

* Experience of producing test metrics analytics.

* Ability to respond to changing project time scales and prioritise work accordingly.
