Java Software Developer / OOD / Agile required to join global software house working on highly successful products and tools used by clients all over the world. This role would suit a Java Software Developer with 2 - 5 years of hands on commercial experience working on algorithmic, scientific or simulation software. Experience in the defence, telecoms, oil and gas engineering or gaming industry would be of particular interest.

The Java Software Developer will join an established and skilled team of colleagues working in an agile scrum environment on bespoke desktop software products for blue chip clients. Working on a desktop Java application you should have good OO design knowledge. Candidates with C++ or C# experience will also be considered and given time to pick up the slight differences in Java (SE). Knowledge of GUI design (AWT / Swing), and tools such as Gradle, Jenkins or TDD will be an advantage for this Java Software Developer role.

The Java Software Developer role will be working in a supportive environment with colleagues at all experience levels who can offer product and development expertise and support. A good educational background, and strong technical communication skills are required, a degree in Computer Science or scientific subject such as Physics, Mathematics, Astrophysics, Geophysics or Earth Science would be is preferred, candidates with MSc or PhD will be considered as well, especially if your studies have included significant Java programming.
