Data Analyst / Sr. Data Analyst

Data Analyst required to joining leading Data & Insight organisation working with in the Travel Industry in their European headquarters in Dublin. The candidate will collaborate and support other key stakeholders in the organisation such as Operations, Marketing, Business Development, Sales, Finance, Product and Engineering.

Responsibilities will include:

* Being involved in all aspects of the analytics function and develop close-loop analytics processes that includes reporting, performance analysis, prediction and business recommendation;

* Performing analyses that improves targeting, segmentation, and campaign effectiveness based on campaign results and present them to multi-disciplinary teams of varying technical expertise;

* Developing scenarios to understand trade-offs and impacts among multiple strategies in all operational areas;

* Supporting other areas in the organisation ranging from Account Management, Business Development, Sales and AdOps;

* Working closely with the Engineering teams on targeting implementation in production environment;

* Extracting, creating, and organising data for use in analytical and modelling purposes;

* Being involved in extendable research, both quantitative and qualitative, that support or create an understanding of industry global trends that are singularly unique;

* Being a thought leader and consultative resource for optimizing marketing campaigns and product development

Required Skills & Experience

* The successful candidate will:

* Hold an honours degree in a quantitative or technical discipline (e.g. Statistics, Analytics, Mathematics, Economics / Econometrics, Computer Science, Engineering, Science) from a quality third-level establishment;

* Have a minimum of 3 years' experience in a role where quantitative skills were applied in a high-pressure, high-impact, complex & data-rich environment;

* Experience working within an analytical team in a highly numerate Online Marketing/Digital Marketing/Acquisition space a strong advantage.

* Have a highly-developed technical skill-set which facilitates high-quality, efficient & comprehensive analysis, including demonstrating the ability to handle large data sets. Knowledge of SQL and database structures a very distinct advantage along with a broad idea of trends in "Big Data". Experience with data mining packages (R, Knime, SPSS, SAS, WEKA etc.) also an advantage. Distinctive ability in Microsoft Excel (and/or Excel VBA) an advantage;

* Demonstrate a keen intent to "get stuck in" & get deeply involved with the data set in order to extract usable insights from areas where no-one has been before - particularly in the cutting-edge online acquisition arena;

* Have a naturally inquisitive mind-set and an urge to look for hidden patterns, understand behaviour, use large data sets to robustly prove/dis-prove self-generated theories and the theories of others (evidence of independent and lateral thinking a big plus);

* Be required to demonstrate real-world examples which highlight excellent numerical ability, strong data acquisition, collation & manipulation techniques and a deep understanding of analytics (both its usefulness and limitations);

* Show evidence of being an analytical thinker who has the ability to break complex problems down to their constituent parts in order to deliver solutions in a clear, methodical and logical manner;

* Exhibit high-energy, drive & evidence of the flexibility required to work in an entrepreneurial & dynamic environment;

* Have a track record of creating compelling narratives from large, heterogeneous and disparate data sets and using this narrative to influence decision making at senior levels internally and externally.
