What is the role?

Our client is currently recruiting for an experienced IT Operations Manager to join their IT team at Burford. The IT Operations manager will have extensive experience of managing, improving and developing IT Infrastructure systems including Wide Area Networks, Local Area Networks, Telephone systems, Server and Storage platforms, Personal Computers, and Mobile Devices. You will lead a team of IT specialists covering data and voice networks, IT Projects and Systems Administration. You will be engaged in an IT Transformation activity that will help the organisation optimise its IT provision for the future.

The standard hours are 35 per week, Monday to Friday.

Key responsibilities:

- Infrastructure architecture strategy development and management

- Team leadership

- Incident, Problem and Change management

- Attainment of IT operational performance Service Levels

- Managing customer expectation and escalation processes

- Infrastructure monitoring, control, provision and change activities

- Project management

- Security

- Backup and Disaster recovery

What is required?

Our client is looking for someone with:

- A strong understanding of on-premise and cloud computing environments. You will have been involved in cloud migration activities.

- Strong people skills as the person will engage with a wide range of stakeholders at all levels and be a good team player.

- Strong competencies in support operations and infrastructure management

- Skills in managing and negotiating with external suppliers

- Excellent organisational, analytical and problem-solving skills

- Ability to prioritise diverse activities and work to tight deadlines and constraints

- Knowledge of changing and emerging technologies and the ability to see where this can benefit the organisation

- Experience of budget and cost control and prioritising scare resources

- Predominantly a Wintel environment, with a creative team using Apple Macs, exposure to a mixed support environment is desirable
