Communication skills and organisation are essential here. As our Project Support Officer, you’ll give our teams the support they need by efficiently and accurately handling project information. It’s a valued role that will give you an in-depth understanding of large-scale projects that are having a hugely positive effect across the country.

There’ll be lots to do: data to process, newsletters and briefings to prepare, reports to run and meetings to support - anything and everything to help colleagues be ever-more effective in their roles. You’ll accompany Project Managers on site visit and help out with community events. As you grow in confidence, we’ll support your ambitions too - and help you use the experience as a springboard for your career.

A Level standard qualifications are desirable. PRINCE2 Foundation or APM Foundation is an advantage. It’s important you’re confident in MS Office too. However, while time spent in project support or project management will help, more important is your interest in the work and exceptional talent for organisation and planning.

With so many contacts across the Environment Agency, it’s also important that you’re positive, enjoy helping colleagues, promote collaboration and take pride in your work.

A rewarding environment

There are exceptional benefits to look forward to here, including a generous pension and substantial leave. We offer a range of flexible working options, including flexi-time and part time/job share, where possible, so you can strike the right balance between work and home life. We try our best to accommodate personal commitments.

Naturally, we want you to be the best in your field. So expect training and development that helps you grow professionally. We will also pay your fees for one professional membership.

We value a diverse workforce and welcome applications from all sections of the community who wish to join an organisation which values everyone. We particularly welcome applications from Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic (BAME), disabled, female and LGBT+ candidates, so that our team really does represent and understand the communities we work with. We want all our people to feel good about where they work and why they come to work, that they can be themselves without fear of judgement or prejudice and that all views are equally respected and valued. We believe everyone should have an equal chance of achieving their life goals. Diversity: it’s in our nature.
