Category Manager- Competitive Salary - Bristol

We are recruiting for a Category Manager to join an expanding Procurement & Supply Chain team within a leading Engineering business based in Bristol.

You will play a significant role in managing the material and services requirements of projects by generating best value solutions, to increase the overall value and performance derived from the Supply Chain.

Major Responsibilities / Accountabilities

* Design and implement appropriate supply chain solutions to support delivery of a number of projects.

* Plan, prepare and implement strategic sourcing projects, analyse market responses and recommend solutions to relevant stakeholders.

* Lead contract negotiations with key suppliers and manage supplier relationships to deliver the Quality, Cost and Delivery performance requirements of major projects.

* Lead a team of procurement professionals to deliver the above activities as part of an integrated project team.

* Support functional integration and alignment across the business unit through Category Management and Continuous Improvement activities and initiatives.

Qualification/ Skills & Attributes:

* Relevant degree in a Business or Engineering discipline, or equivalent experience

* Membership of Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply (MCIPS) or studying towards MCIPS or equivalent

* 5+ years in a Procurement , Supply Chain Management or related role
