Network Rail Telecoms (NRT) provides national operational and corporate telecommunications capability, so our systems and people can talk to each other effectively. In support of these activities we are keen to secure a talented Design Subject Matter Expert who can lead on providing technical consultancy to NRT and the wider NR organisation on engineering solutions, to be used over the telecoms and datacoms infrastructure. The role interfaces at all levels of the business and will require the ability to manage a complex portfolio, juggling the demands of the many customers we serve.

You will act as the Technical author of telecoms design solution taking into consideration; Standards / Technical Specification; Services Routing Diversity; Services over multiple telecoms technologies; PDH / SDH/ IP/ MPLS/ WDM / VoIP.

This talented individual will be:

   •   Cisco CCIE/CCNP qualified or equivalent with strong routing, switching, and QoS experience
   •   Have an extensive understanding coupled with experience of developing standards and test methodologies
   •   MPLS, BGP, OSPF, ISIS, EIGRP and Multicast skilled
   •   Equipped with relevant telecommunications / Datacoms design experience within a Supplier, Enterprise, Service Provider or similar organisation.
