CAD/CAM Designer

Hitchin, Hertfordshire

£27000 - £35000 + Pension + Holiday +Bonus

Excellent opportunity for a CAD/CAM Designer to take on a leading role within a small design team for a well-established company that look after their staff.

Do you have experience as a CAD/CAM designer in a manufacturing environment? Do you have experience of product design from conception to prototyping?

The company specialise in designing bespoke products for a variety of clients from commercial to government. They have a wide range of existing products but also do a lot of individual designs to specifications as well as constantly developing new product ranges. This is something you would be actively involved with.

In this role you will be taking on a lead role within a small design team. You will be liaising with clients to understand their requirements before designing products to suit their needs. You will work through products from conception to prototype construction and reworking products when required.

The ideal candidate will have experience in a CAD/CAM role or similar design experience. You will be comfortable dealing with clients and communicating with other members of the team.

The Role

* Producing Prototype and Construction Drawings

* Producing Manufacturing Documents (BOM etc.)

* Developing New Products

* Managing a Small Team

* Liaising with Clients and Team Members

The Person

* Experience in a CAD of design role for manufacturing

* Experience in 2D/3D bespoke designs

* Good communication skills

* Understand of sheet metal work
