Through a passion for improving care for patients, to provide leadership to the delivery of Urgent Care for the Clinical Commissioning Group. This involves developing and leading implementation of service developments, in partnership with; local and regional A&E Delivery Boards, Urgent & Emergency Care Network and other relevant agencies and provider organisations, in accordance with national policy and identified local needs and priorities.

The post holder will have lead responsibility for Urgent Care service commissioning including the development of a single Integrated 24 hour Urgent Care Pathway. This model will incorporate NHS 111, GP Out of Hours services, A&E Diversion Programmes and Intermediate Care services.

The post holder will be responsible for ensuring reporting arrangements and governance structures are effective and comprehensive and will ensure delivery of the required improvements for patients, in terms of improved outcomes and delivery of constitutional targets.

To deliver these aims, the post holder will need to liaise with and manage relationships with a wide range of internal and external clinicians and other stakeholders and ensure competing priorities are successfully reconciled, in a way that maximises opportunities for the people. To work flexibly with the clinical commissioning group executive team, Heads of service and clinical leads to ensure best value commissioning.
