SC Cleared Software Engineer - PYTHON, JAVA

My Public Sector Client currently has an exciting opportunity to join them as a SC cleared Software Engineer on a 13 month+ Contract.

This is a long term opportunity to work on a challenging and interesting piece of work.

Key Responsibilities:

Day-to-day you will be responsible for working with that team to design, create, support and improve new and existing digital products and platforms. The main responsibilities of the post are:

*Designing software products to serve a variety of user needs, and enhancing existing software products to meet evolving user needs.

*Ensuring a quality software product is delivered and maintained.

*Being a practitioner in the use of technologies and tools, evaluating and adopting those appropriate for the environment.

*Supporting a continuous delivery environment, using effective delivery and deployment techniques.

*Maintaining and supporting services, identifying, locating and competently fixing faults, and taking pro-active actions to avoid service disruption.

*Sharing knowledge of tools and techniques; identifying and sharing good practices and collaborating to improve the capability of the team.

Key Skills:

*Practitioner in multiple (two or more) languages, including Python and Java, proven ability to select and apply them appropriately, considering accessibility and reusability.

*Practitioner in multiple test techniques, and informs test approach, ensuring it considers non-functional requirements such as performance, security and accessibility etc.

*Practitioner in the creation and management of continuous integration, delivery and deployment pipelines, and proposes improvements to existing pipelines.

*Able to configure and modifying existing infrastructure as needed.

*A practitioner of service-oriented architectures and micro-services.

Due to the nature and urgency of this post, candidates holding or who have held high level security clearance in the past are most welcome to apply. Please note successful applicants will be required to be security cleared prior to appointment which can take up to a minimum 10 weeks.
