Role: Network Architect
Start Date: ASAP
Location: Northampton
Duration: 3-6 months
The Network Architect will be the will be responsible to configure and trouble shoot Cisco LAN/WAN connections, Cisco IOS VPN, Cisco Firewalls, and Cisco switches. The team members will handle monitoring and resolution of networking issues for our clients.
* Candidate will be responsible for analyzing, developing, interpreting and evaluating network system design and architecture specifications, data models and diagrams
* Liaise with other internal teams and vendors in the development, configuration and integration of computer systems and for issue resolution.
* Configure and install various network devices and services (e.g., routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, VPN, QoS)
* Design & Implementation of LAN & WAN Infrastructure.
* Configuring/Troubleshooting Routing protocols including but not limited to EIGRP, OSPF, BGP & layer 2 protocols
* Maximizes network performance by monitoring performance, troubleshooting network problems and outages
* Work within established configuration and change management policies to ensure awareness, approval and success of changes made to the network infrastructure
* Utilizes various network tools for monitoring and testing the network and associated devices
* Work with engineers regarding monitoring alerts and client issues
* Provide assistance to identify and troubleshoot Windows, mail delivery and network-related problems
* Provide weekend and off-hours support, as needed
* Conduct proactive systems maintenance for client servers
* Contact clients and internal staff about monitoring events as needed
* Manage outage communications with vendors/customers
* Maintain client security levels and confidentiality of information
* Input and manage tickets through our CRM system
* Generate documentation for processes in the GOC as needed
* Learn and follow company policies and procedures
* Perform in a fast paced, high volume environment
* Perform related tasks as required
Essential Skills:
* Bachelor's degree (or equivalent work experience); advanced industry certifications a plus
* 10+ Years working within professional, enterprise-level IT Organization
* 7+ Years of experience in working as a Systems Administrator or Engineer
* Bachelor's degree in technical field or equivalent experience, certifications and training
* Strong Working knowledge of Infrastructure Technologies and the relationships between application, systems, network, and security
* Strong working knowledge of networking technologies (Ethernet and Layer 3, overlay network a plus)
* Strong Working knowledge of Virtual Architecture (VMWare, Hyper-V, VDI,)
* Strong working knowledge of SAN environments. Design, Administration, and Support
* Excellent overall knowledge of Enterprise Level technologies
* Excellent verbal and written client communications skills required
* Experience in managing multiple resources in a matrix organization that includes technical and business users/roles
* Experience in partnering and managing external Solution Providers with the ability to drive results

Qualifications:
* 8-10 years hands-on network engineering experience
* Deep understanding of networking protocols
* Hands-on experience with monitoring, network diagnostic and network analytics tools for Cisco LAN/WAN connections (mostly 43xx router), Cisco IOS VPN, Cisco Firewalls, and Cisco switches.
* Vendor certifications (Cisco, Juniper etc.) will be preferred. Organizational skills and the ability to priorities workload
* High level of verbal and written communications
* Customer service experience
