Senior PHP Developer
The Perinatal Institute is an award-winning organisation that provides clinical software solutions to over 100 hospital Trusts in the UK and maternity units in an increasing number of countries abroad.
Due to a number of high-profile projects we are growing our development team and are looking for enthusiastic Full Stack PHP Developers to take on further development of our Maternity systems.
As the Senior PHP Developer, you will take the lead on further development to our web based Maternity Information System; and will have experience developing critical systems that store large amounts of sensitive data.
The successful candidate will be working as part of a multi-disciplinary team in an organisation that values its employees and promotes personal development.
Required Experience
5 years' minimum client and server-side development experience
Advanced proficiency in PHP
Detailed understanding of JavaScript & JSON
CSS 3 & HTML 5
Microsoft SQL Server
Domain driven design
Experience using version control and collaboration tools
Ability to troubleshoot issues
Desired Experience
8+ years as a PHP developer
npm, Bower and Composer
PHPUnit and Mockery
NoSQL
Degree in Software Development or equivalent experience

Role Responsibilities:
Subject matter expert in the MiApp core architecture
Review current code, systems, and practices, working iteratively to improve their quality
and efficiency
Develop new product features, fix bugs, and optimize code performance and quality
Management and implementation of development methodologies and processes
Management of the MiApp development team
Communication with MiApp project team members to understand and further develop
requirements
Understanding of how Information Governance requirements should be implemented to
ensure security of data
Prepare internal documentation for Development team and support technicians
