Avanade is looking for a Full Stack Developer to join our fast-growing, energetic Digital Studio and Emerging Technology teams. Are you passionate about cutting-edge technology? As a Full Stack Developer, you will be working closely with designers, developers and robots, helping turn future thinking into reality. Avanade's Emerging Technology group uncovers trends to help guide Avanade's future technology investments and early client adoption. You'll be stepping into bleeding-edge tech by contributing to our emerging technology research, all the while moving toward a longer-term career in software engineering. We work with emerging technologies to understand how they work so we can determine their future potential. We are seeking a curious, collaborative individual who is eager to teach what they already know and who jumps at an opportunity to dive into new territory.

You'll be part of our Emerging Technology R&D team as a full stack developer, but that doesn't define you. You’ll be able new technologies and languages quickly and be willing to adapt; one day you may work on building a 3D application with Unity or ARKit, the following week you might be working with quantum computing. You need to be ready to roll your sleeves up and operate outside of traditional role definitions to help us challenge conventional thinking and support our clients.

We are looking for someone with a passion for what we do, an amazingly positive attitude, ready to tackle challenges that come with new technology, and the ability to communicate your findings internally and externally. Ultimately, you'll explore and define new research problems within the agenda of the emerging technology R&D group and help to implement and execute projects internally and with clients.

What you’ll do

Act as a subject matter advisor in a domain area

Contribute to assets/offerings and thought leadership

Execute the R&D agenda through building prototypes, applying and reshaping proof of concepts based on clients' needs, and continuously learning about new technology areas

Qualifications

Bachelors in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or Science related field (or relevant experience)

2+ years of application development with experience using 2 or more programming languages, such as Python, Java, Scala, C#, .NET, etc.

Critical thinking skills

Detail-driven/ analytical mindset

Proven ability in contributing to a team-oriented environment

Proven ability to work both creatively and analytically in a problem-solving environment

Great communication skills, both verbal and written

Passion for technology and learning - actively seeks to broaden knowledge on emerging tools, techniques, and technologies

Ability to effectively handle multiple projects concurrently
