Network Project Manager - Westminster / Bromley - Initial 3 months

Network Project Manager required to join a multinational telecommunications company, working on a project based in Westminster with travel to Bromley on an initial 3 month contract.

Skills and Experience

* Network upgrades

* Network refresh and upgrades to systems.

* Will have had five to seven years' experience of leading projects

* Experienced delivery agent with specific experience of delivering to clients directly and delivery of significant products as part of client programmes.

* Experienced user of, and/or accredited in the PPM approach.

* Experienced user of, and/or accredited in, a formal Project Management methodology such as Prince2, APMP, ITIL qualification, Risk Management Qualification or 6 Sigma.

Key Responsibilities

* Demonstrable experience and capability to manage projects autonomously. Thorough understanding of concepts, procedures and application of project management and a good knowledge in other subjects or disciplines, which are relevant to the content of the project (e.g. Six sigma and network management processes).

* Evaluates, sometimes complex (please see project matrix for further detail) situations using multiple sources of information. Solution may require some new planning and resource elements but unless exceptional unlikely to be totally bespoke.

* Projects may involve a higher element of risk to business and require ability to use recognised project management methods and processes, depending on risk profile and governance needs.

* Is recognised as a key supplier in delivery of a client or internal business benefit.

* Must have proven ability to apply relationship management skills and to be able to build and own client and stakeholder relationships at senior (e.g. GM and above or prime external customer).

* Third party suppliers may have to be managed in terms of selection, deliverables, timelines and budgets.

* Directs and manages on all elements of project and should guide Project Manager 1s.

* Acts as lead change agent with ability to channel resources effectively internally developing better delivery practice or ability to identify the change impact on the organisation, identify stakeholders and manage relationships, risk and engagement to deliver the project's outcomes successfully.

Project Delivery

The projects will be delivered in accordance with the service features as detailed in the Project Managed Install Service Description as follows:

* Accept the project and conduct an introductory call to the Customer.

* Formally launch the project with all key project personnel and customer to discuss overall project, delivery dates & address, safety issues, priorities etc. This could be Face to Face or by conference call as deemed appropriate

* Manage the project to a recognized professional standard (i.e. APMP (Association for Project Management Professional)/Prince 2) and provide appropriate documentation in line Project Managers Procedures.

* Provide the customer with a single point of contact (SPOC).

* Agree the standard and methodology of Keeping Customer Informed (KCI) update with the customer including meetings, audio calls etc.

* Agree an overall solution delivery date as well as individual site deliveries to Customer Confirmed Date/Customer Agreed Date.

* Apply Risk and Change Management

* Understand and comply with all regulatory and legislative rules and adhere to health, safety and security responsibilities

* Pro-actively manage the project against agreed delivery dates.

* Pro-actively manage installations and delivery of all Network & Equipment.

* Meet/resolve any Standards of Quality and Safety issues that may arise.

* Pro-actively and effectively manage all escalations to a satisfactory conclusion in least time possible.

* Manage and own any issues that the customer may raise.

* Maximize commercial benefit to the client.

* Have a high level customer management skill, strong level of knowledge of all products appropriate to the customer base and understanding their application to the customer and the impact of problems on their business.

* Ensure a successful hand-over of a working solution that has met the customer requirements.

* Ensure that the successfully delivered solution has been handed over to the in-life teams for on-going Management of the client's Network and any associated equipment where applicable.

* Provide the customer with all relevant documentation e.g. handbook, once closure of project has been agreed with the customer.

* Ensure that the project is closed and forwarded to billing.
