We are looking for a highly collaborative engineer with background in electronics and ideally, experience in research equipment prototyping. The post is funded by the Wellcome Trust and initially fixed-term for 12 months, ideally starting on 1st January 2019 or before. The job is highly varied and covers design, building and modification of bespoke scientific equipment for academic research staff.

A key requirement for the role is to provide general electronics design support through prototyping and development. Prototyping and development will be done in the context of a project investigating how the visual and vestibular senses guide navigation. Appropriate documentations will be required with an open-science approach.

The candidate should have a degree in electronic engineering, biomedical engineering or technology. Closely related disciplines, or ability to demonstrate an equivalent level of research or industrial experience will also be considered. The ideal candidate will have experience in FPGA programming and designing scientific instrumentation. Teamwork and delivery of projects within required deadlines are essential.
