An opportunity has arisen for a Software Test Engineer to join the UK's Leading Engineering Support Services organisation as part of their Airports division based in Leicester.

As a Software Test Engineer you will work as part of a project team amongst Developers and DBA's and other Tester's. You will work on a project by project basis, as the sole testing resource responsible for hands on testing.

The role will entail managing the full E2E SDLC testing lifecycle this will include:

* Identifying and Understanding requirements from project designs

* Ensure all functional and non-functional requirements are correctly translated into test cases and scenarios

* Write detailed test cases and test specifications and understand how it all works

* Carry out Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) and User Acceptance Testing (UAT) while being aware of how a project lifecycle runs

* Produce documentation across the project phases

* Provide test summary reports

* Test best practices

* Perform all testing within the project cost and time constraints

This client works in a hybrid environment using both V model and Waterfall methodology. They do also adopt agile practices when required

You will be required to use Jira for test management, logging of defects and test reporting

Essential Skills

The successful candidate will have demonstrable experience as a hands on tester across the Software Development Lifecycle.

Experience in Factory and User Acceptance Testing

SQL Experience (running of queries to extract or update database content)

Experience using both V-model and Waterfall methodology is essential

* Ability to work as part of team but also as an individual

* Strong communication skills
