2nd Line Support Engineer
We have a very exciting opportunity for a 2nd Line Support Engineer to join a market-leading provider of secure cloud hosting and colocation, whilst driving innovation through their products and services. In this role, the 2nd Line Support Engineer will ensure the smooth and consistent operations of customer and internal systems, fixing any technical issues that may arise, so excellent communication skills both written & verbal are essential.
Working as a 2nd Line Support Engineer, your role will include:
* Monitoring internal and customer systems (servers, networking, storage, applications)
* Taking ownership of 2nd line support tickets, providing fast and effective technical diagnosis & problem resolution, in accordance with agreed SLAs and processes
* Planning, scheduling and conducting Change requests from customers
Essential skills for the 2nd Line Support Engineer position:
* Proven experience working in 2nd Line IT support role
* Experience working with Windows and Linux
* Good knowledge of Active Directory, including Group Policy
* Networking fundamentals: DHCP, DNS (MS, Linux BIND)
* Experience supporting Microsoft Exchange
* Knowledge of virtualisation tech such as: VMware vSphere, Citrix XenServer
**** This role will involve shift working hours following a fluctuating pattern of 4 on, 2 off, 4 on, 3 off style. ****
