IT Support Technician - Leading International School

The Organisation
Part of a successful group of international schools, our client is a leading educational organisation that has created a network of institutions and connections that facilitate learning solutions for foreign students coming to the UK.
Now, they’re looking for an IT Support Technician to join their team in Marylebone and support their technology infrastructure.
The Role
As an IT Support Technician, you will be responsible for maintaining an efficient, secure and relevant ICT network environment. This will include:
- Developing and maintaining the school network including server, desktop, MDM, NAS and cloud services
- Ensuring the security of the network
- Responding to, and recording, IT support requests from staff and students
- Making recommendations to the CFO/Bursar on potential hardware and software purchases, upgrades, or implementations
- Supporting all school software, hardware and software installations, updates and maintenance, as well as a number of databases
- Ensuring that regular back-ups are taken of all networked systems
- Liaising with, and overseeing, contractors and suppliers who provide IT services
This role will also involve lifting and carrying IT equipment.
About You
To be considered as an IT Support Technician, you will need:
- Experience of Windows Server 2012 R2/ NAS/RAID Cloud
- To be experienced in installing, repairing, upgrading and deploying all types of ICT equipment
- A sound understanding of switches, routers, firewalls (including Sophos XG) and Sophos Wireless
- To be able to work with telephone, CCTV and door entry systems
- Experience of Google Gsuite Administration
- Knowledge of the PaperCut print management solution
- To be able to provide Apple computer support
- Experience of maintaining and repairing AV equipment
- To be comfortable troubleshooting interactive whiteboards and screens
- The ability to work with non-ICT staff
- A hands-on approach
