Fancy helping shape the strategy for a number of enterprise products in a global organisation?

If the answer to that question is a resounding yes then why not take the next couple of minutes to read through this snappy little job ad...

I am recruiting for an experienced Senior UX Researcher on behalf of a global organisation in the Northamptonshire area. The role is newly released and is part of an enormous recruitment drive due to them being in the midst of a company-wide digital transformation piece. Due to the customer-focused nature of their business, UX has always been at the forefront of their business strategy so this role is a key hire for them moving into Q4 of 2018.

Working as part of a 20-strong team, your role will involve working with UX Designers, Business Analysts and Product Owners to help shape and validate research hypothesis across a varying range of digital projects. You will be working with cross-functional and globally distributed teams, ensuring that a consistent set of best practices and shared research opportunities are maintained in order to help ultimately mature the research practice within the organisation as a whole.

Fundamentally, the Senior UX Researcher is a critical role in delivering their exciting mission statement. You will be joining a group of talented and passionate researchers in a team that is currently scaling up to meet the needs of an ambitious digital transformation program, with huge career development opportunities on offer.

But enough about them... this ad is all about you.

Such as, what do you need to demonstrate to be considered for this role? Well... rather than simply regurgitating their formal JD, I have decided to pick out some of the key skills they are looking for:

UX Research - First and foremost, you must have a proven track record in UX Research. Hands-on experience with varying research methodologies (e.g. behavioural and ethnographic research, iterative lab/guerrilla usability testing, tree testing, benchmarking, remote/online testing etc.) is crucial and should be visible on your CV or application document. You should have clear experience carrying out E2E UX Research projects and any experience doing so in either a web or mobile setting would be ideal. Moreover, a deep understanding of user journeys, personas, user stories, task modelling, usability and human-centered design is also hugely beneficial.

Stakeholder Management - Due to the nature of the role and the nature of the business, you need to have clear and proven experience working in a stakeholder-facing environment. Your role would involve liaising with multiple business units (think 'Internal Consultant') so any prior experience working in either a Digital Agency or Software Consultancy would be preferred.

Agile Experience - Whilst not a pure Agile organisation (think Agile with a small 'a' rather than a capital 'A'), they are on something of an 'Agile journey' so it is crucial anybody they bring into the business helps that journey. Therefore, you do need to have proven experience working in an Agile environment and should be able to explain the benefits of Agile as a development/design methodology.

Portfolio - Finally, whilst not a technical or skill requirement, it is important that you are able to support your application with a portfolio demonstrating your work, hence why I included it as an 'essential requirement'. In a design-focused role such as this, candidates are expected to have something that highlights and displays their work, whether it be an online portfolio or something in PDF/Word format.

So there you have it... a pretty interesting role if I don't say so myself, and something that should hopefully appeal to you. If it does, and you would like to set up a chat, then give me a shout via the following means.

You can call me on either 0191 338 7540 (Office) or 07943721308 (Mobile). Alternatively, send me an email to [email protected] or search for 'Liam Haghighat' on LinkedIn - I am pretty easy to find with my surname!
