About the Role

As an experienced Quality Assurance Engineering Manager, you will lead the QA Engineering team and function, ensuring automation and quality are built into Digital services by acting as the central QA Authority, providing leadership to the product teams and act as a point of escalation for the QA Engineers while managing project risks with stakeholders.

You will work with managers from other engineering disciplines to share QA Engineering best practice and encourage everyone in the teams to think about ‘quality’ and make it intrinsic to their processes.

You will be responsible for supporting the product teams by making sure they have access to the relevant people, test tools and frameworks as well as reviewing test standards and procedures to optimise test delivery.

About You

You should be educated to degree-level with professional qualification and/or equivalent experience, especially in leading and managing a QA Engineering function specialising in test automation, development of test strategies and creation of appropriate test harnesses as well as pragmatic testing approaches and developing QA approaches that fit how the overall software ecosystems work together.

To be successful in this role, you should have knowledge and experience of a broad range of testing, including but not limited to, BDD, TDD, System Testing, Regression Testing and Integration Testing and non-functional testing, e.g. Load and Stress Testing. You should be familiar with a range of tools such as Selenium, Cucumber, Gerkin, JMeter, Postman, SOAPUI, Protractor, Git.

Knowledge and experience of Web technologies such as HTML, XML, SSL, Drupal, LAMP stack etc. is important in this role, as well as experience in the DevOps approach, working closely with DevOps Engineers and Software Engineers delivering test automation as part of the Continual Integration and Continual Deployment processes.

Experience working as part of multi-skilled, multi-disciplinary Agile teams delivering Web applications and working within a DevOps culture, with continual integration, continual testing and continual deployment of code is desirable.
