I am recruiting for the UK's leading engineering support services organisation and market leader in providing through life engineering to the defence, marine and nuclear industries. They are trusted worldwide for their expertise and proven track record in supporting complex engineering projects.

We are currently looking to recruit an accomplished Design and Safety Manager to undertake a key role on a high profile and critical project.

The UK is currently building its next generation of submarines and as such we need to ensure we have the supporting infrastructure to enable their through lifer maintenance. As such, we are about to start a £750m redevelopment project and require a nuclear licencing and safety policy manager to support facility licencing and authorisation plans.

Responsibilities

* Delivery of Facility Design & Staged Nuclear Safety Cases

* Management of In-Service Facility Design and Safety Cases

* Implement Babcock/DRDL Design & Nuclear Safety Processes

* Technical integration of project design & safety work scope.

* Discharge of DA Function as Delegated via Head of Engineering.

* Jointly with the CE and other DSMs, ensure technical consistency across SI projects.

* Contribute to development of Design & Nuclear Processes & Standards

* Design Requirements Management

* Nuclear Safety Requirements Development & Management

* Develop, plan and deliver design and safety technical work

* Design & Safety Resource Management

* Manage Design & Safety Team ONR & EA interface

Requirements

* Design or Nuclear Safety Process Management

* Awareness of Design Nuclear Class 1 (or other high hazard) safety Substantiation

* Awareness of Cat A Nuclear Safety Case Leadership

* Awareness of Reactor Performance & Nuclear Safety

* Transverse technical skills

* Team Player

* Leadership in Engineering, Design & Safety

* Senior Management Leadership Skills

* CEng Competencies
