One of the United Kingdom's leading providers of waste-to-energy is seeking a Project Manager to play an integral role in the management and delivery of CAPEX projects across their portfolio. Working for a global organisation with a presence across Europe and North America, this is an excellent opportunity to secure a senior-level role with an industry-leader in waste management products and services.

Scope of work

Entitled Capital & Lifecycle Manager, in this role you will be responsible for leading, devising and implementing multiple capex projects in the development and improvement of waste processing technologies across UK PFI/PPP contracts. Reporting into the Engineering & Performance Director, the role will encompass the implementation of capex improvement projects on established assets across the country.

The role will also include man-management responsibility, ensuring the success of a minor projects team consisting of four direct reports. It is important that as Capital & Lifecycle Manager, you deliver a clean plan for the delivery of minor projects up to a value of £3m, as well as ensure all projects are delivered with full traceability. Holding accountability for the minor projects business, you will maintain a clear financial and commercial strategy as well as monitor/report on progress against agreed targets.

In the position of Capital & Lifecycle Manager, you will proactively engage with project stakeholders to ensure the achievement of project objectives in line with business needs, working with numerous teams such as operations, maintenance and third-party partners. You will also manage time, cost and risk using the businesses established project management framework, tools and contract processes.

You will also be tasked with the identification of both internal and external resources required to meet project objectives, as well as the facilitation of post-project evaluations to identify areas of improvement. The role is to be based from their facility in Milton Keynes, when not out on the road visiting project sites.

You will:

* Have a proven track record in the management of projects within active operational environments, utilising organisational and commercial skills to optimise delivery.

* Be able to successfully manage multiple projects with a proven commercial acumen.

* Have a proven record in leadership, managing and motivating teams to deliver projects successfully.

* Be able to travel to projects across the United Kingdom.

* Hold an engineering degree/qualification in a technical discipline

* Have Prince2 certification, or an equivalent qualification
