Excellent opportunity for an Engineer from a manufacturing or machining background join an industry leading company offering a role with plenty of variety and long term progression opportunities.

This company are a leading UK manufacturer who supply into a range of Industries. Due to their ability to deliver a great service, they have continued to win several large contracts and through stable growth are now in a position to add a Senior Engineer to join their team.

In this role you will be pivotal in contributing to the timely delivery of current New Product Introductions. Involvement throughout the full process will be key, from regular contact with the customer's Engineering team to interpret and understand their requirements, to preparing for product sign-off. There will also be requirements to enhance the existing programmes by making existing processes more robust and effective, and identify opportunities to modernise them.

The ideal candidate will be an engineer with previous experience working in an SME in an automotive or aerospace industry. Mechanical design experience (CAD) would be highly beneficial as well as experience managing technical projects, dealing with customers, NPI and Continuous Improvements.

The Role:

*Lead NPI projects from start to end

*Ongoing assessment of processes / tooling / fixtures for their relevance and effectiveness

*First line production support & continual improvement of process efficiencies & material recovery optimisation

*Hands on technical engineering / project management with the opportunity to move into a supervisory role

*R&D of new manufacturing methods

The Person:

*Degree qualified engineer or similar

*Mechanical design experience (CAD)

*Experience working in an SME from an automotive or aerospace industry

*Experience with New Product Introduction

*Experience with continuous improvements

*Hands on technical project management experience

*Any experience programming CNC machines would be advantageous
