IR35 Scope: Inside IR35

Location: Southend or Telford - UK Full Time.

Cloud & DevOps Architect

The Central Government organisations Messaging Delivery Group requires a Cloud & DevOps Architect to support delivery of projects and the migration of current services from Data Centres to the Public Cloud, especially AWS.

DevOps Tooling Architecture:

* Define and maintain a DevOps Tooling Architecture for Integration/Messaging services

* Communicate to stakeholders and assure the delivery of the design.

Runtime Integration Framework Architecture:

* The Cloud & DevOps Architect must be able to define and maintain a Runtime Integration Framework Architecture for both integration and messaging services.

* Again, communicate between stakeholders to assure the delivery of the design.

Operations Management Architecture:

* The Cloud & DevOps Architect must be able to define and maintain an Operations Management Architecture for both integration and messaging services

* Again, communicate between stakeholders to assure the delivery of the design.

Proof of Concept:

* Define and review the delivery of Proof of Concepts to provide architectural advice.

Essential Criteria:

The Cloud & DevOps Architect must have 5+ years of experience in CI/CD or DevOps in a Development Operations organisation administering, leading, building and maintaining a CI/CD environment.

Thorough experience designing and implementing DevOps or CI/CD (also including Containerization and Virtualization), Deployment automation process, Release management and version control tools.

Extensive knowledge of software development and testing methodologies along with configuration and change management practices in a number of environments.

Experience of designing/implementing brand-new AWS Cloud solutions with the ability to rapidly provision AWS environments with VPC, IAM and EC2.

Good knowledge of middleware, databases, web services and related standards.

Experience of IT Governance.

Ability to think outside the box and be innovative by keeping up to date with new trends, identifying opportunities to bring in a change for business benefits.

The candidate needs to have outstanding communication skills and must be able to demonstrate the ability to explain complex technical issues to both non-technical and technical audiences.

Be a team player with a positive attitude, must have strong communication (English verbal and written) and interpersonal skills

Must have the ability to influence stakeholders as a trusted advisor at all levels, including teams outside the shared services.

Technical Skills:

* Atlassian tools: Jira, Bambo and BitBucket

* Architecture Design Experience

* SCM Migration Skills (cvs,svn,git…)

* Deep knowledge and a professional experience with .net, j2ee, Java, SQL Technology.

* Experience with automated deployment, continuous integration and release engineering tools - Ansible, Bamboo, Jenkins, Cucumber, Maven, Ant Octopus, Dockers etc.

* Strong familiarity with BitBucket / GIT, TFS, SVN and other version control systems as software configuration management and Source Code Lifecycle Management tools.
