Role Overview:

The Desktop Infrastructure Analyst, as an SME will assist with the works involved in delivering a consistent Windows 10 image deployment and management methodology for the Client. You will provide advanced MI reporting in support of day-to-day EUC related activities, desired configuration of the desktop and SCCM infrastructure estate actively participating in enhancement of services aligned to modernisation; this includes but not limited to asset management and SCCM/ CMDB integration, EUC migration and Windows 10/ SCCM ongoing maintenance.

You will actively assist in aligning services to the End User Compute project which is expected to commence during this period; this will be through performing back fill activities associated with running services in parallel whilst IT service moves to a new Target Operating Model. The role will also assist in maintaining/ enhancing the SCCM infrastructure which underpins management of the 20,000 managed Windows desktops across the Client's estate.

Thorough technical understanding of Desktop Infrastructure and Applications Delivery for assigned support team, including advanced packaging expertise with particular emphasis on deployment utilising SCCM or VDI platform technologies is required for this role.

Essential skills/experience required:

SCCM 2012 including architectural principals/fine tuning and deployment methodologies

Distribution point management/ configuration and BranchCache

Understanding of Software licensing principles

BITS job management, analysis and troubleshooting

Patch Management

Client health management and troubleshooting including eventlogs and remote client access

Familiarity with Client Centre for Config Manager Toolkit

Application of Analytical and Logical thinking

Proven Team player

Desirable would be any of the following:

Application Packaging and Deployment methodologies (ThinApp, AppV, XenApp, AdminStudio, MSI, Scripted or App-V, ORCA)

Familiarity with VDI technology stack (VMWare, AppV, HyperV, Citrix etc)

Powershell v3.0 onwards

Advanced SQL knowledge to develop MI reporting beyond that currently available OOBE within the product

Advise/ assist in the development of EMS/ Intune policies, deployment and integration with SCCM including AutoPilot and pre-device registration

Asset (HW/ Software)Management including integration with the new ITSM toolset

Duties include:

Package the manual application portfolio currently identified as part of the call for apps activity

Take ownership of packaging tasks from request, through UAT and deployment

Contribute to packaging standards; suggesting improvements to methodologies and quality control

Assist in the remediation activities for complex application deployments

Maintain desired configuration of the end user estate

Monitor deployment status for own and team packaged applications and remediate where applicable.

Work alongside colleagues on the provision of a Windows 10 deployment procedure

Provide continued maintenance of SCCM

Provide advanced MI reporting as part of BAU and EUC activities to facilitate decision making and improve program activities.
