SUMMARY

This role is part of the Crick finance team, working closely with and assisting members of the wider Finance, Grants and Procurement teams.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

The Finance Systems Manager will ensure the optimisation of implementation of finance systems current and future, and contribute to the longer-term development of a seamless approach to the implementation of finance systems. The role will be both responsive to requests from the finance teams for systems developments, and pro-active in identifying and implementing optimisation opportunities, whilst ensuring adherence to best practice for documenting changes.

Specific responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:

Ensure best use is made of current systems being primarily Unit4 Business World / Agresso, but also BravoSolution, Worktribe, Adra / Trintech Balancer, Bottomline PT-X. In particular for Agresso, develop a program to address and resolve outstanding implementation / development issues and work closely with the finance team to manage the process of agreeing and implementing new development requests;

Develop and assist in delivery of a strategy to ensure the Agresso system is updated to latest versions and new developments utilised;

Provide second and third tier support for the Agresso system (drawing in external / vendor support where required);

Develop vendor relationships and ensure that vendor or other expert external support is utilised effectively;

Ensure that vendor developments of systems are monitored and considered for implementation where relevant;

Ensure that a delineation of duties across finance and IT is agreed and made clear, with emphasis in defining tasks that can be carried out by tier 1 support within the IT team, and support tier 1 training where appropriate;

Ensure that a full programme of day-to-day housekeeping and maintenance tasks for all systems is documented and that Systems Analysts are appropriately trained to be able to complete the tasks;

Develop an Agresso training programme with a particular focus on non-finance users;

Help to ensure implementation and integration of any new finance systems, potentially including budgeting / forecasting tools;

Contribute to the ongoing development and implementation of finance systems RACI documents

KEY EXPERIENCE AND COMPETENCIES

Essential Experience:

Extensive experience in providing tier 2 and tier 3 specialist support for and with deep knowledge of the functionality and best practice in running Unit4 BW Agresso systems;

Experience with data warehouse / reporting systems;

Ability to code SQL queries;

Experience with ETL processes.
