Head of Engineering opportunity to come work with an exciting Blockchain Start-up. You will be working alongside an ambitious team of PhDs in nuclear physics, decentralised networks, and quantum cryptography and former founders & CTOs that have scaled mobile apps to tens of millions of users.

You will have the opportunity to work in an office or fully remote. You should be a highly skilled and experienced Backend Engineer - ideally with some experience of working with Start-ups, with a versatile and adaptive mind-set.

You will lead the architecture, operation and development of Backend infrastructure, with DevOps experience.

Your responsibilities will include

* Developing Services that will enable interactions between mobile clients and Smart Contracts.

* With a focus on security, you will review best practices of all internal & external services. You will lead the engineering team to ensure efficient architecture of the company's suite of products.

* Ensuring backend systems are continuously improved with a focus on scalability, efficiency and reliability.

Your Skills set should include:

* 5+ years experience of designing and developing and delivering scalable distributed systems in Java, with knowledge of Node.js. Any knowledge of Go is a bonus.

* Experience of designing and operating a secure infrastructure on AWS

* Knowledge of Ethereum and smart contracts is a plus.

* Knowledge of cryptography & security

* Experience working in a startup environment would be ideal
