Infrastructure and Security Engineer

Infrastructure and Security Engineer / VMware / Windows / Sutton Coldfield

Our nationally recognised client is looking for an Infrastructure and Security Engineer to join their team in Sutton Coldfield. This is initially a six month Fixed Term Contract with the possibility of extension.

As an Infrastructure and Security Engineer you will be required to:

-Strengthen business-critical Infrastructure and Security Platforms, maintaining the resilience of the service.

-Manage the systems, servers and other network components together with telecoms used to deliver an internet-based 24 / 7 service.

-Resolve end user issues for local and wide area networks, personal computers and networking equipment i.e. switches and routers.

-Maintain documentation for the network, telecommunications and telephone systems, as well as security into new and existing platforms.

The Infrastructure and Security Engineer will ideally have exposure to:

-Experience in a similar role, including some exposure and/or knowledge of high-availability systems.

-First class troubleshooting skills, with an ability to demonstrate this as part of the recruitment process.

-Exposure to VMware Virtualisation and Shared Storage Practices.

-Network theory including management and performance analysis.

-All basic administration aspects of Core Microsoft products on-premise (Windows Server, SQL Server and Exchange) and also their cloud based offerings (Office 365, Azure, and their Cloud based products).

-Citrix Products and Technologies.

-An exposure of Security measures and monitoring within the environment.

-An exposure of network security and server hardening.

In return for your skills and experience my client is offering a salary of up to £32,000 (pro rata) plus an excellent company benefits package!
