Systems Engineer.

6 Months initially.

London.

£550 - £650 Per day.

One of our key clients, an interesting, specialist organisation and leader in their field, are looking for a Systems Engineer to join the team.

As a Systems Engineer you will make a significant contribution towards safeguarding the UK's national security and to people's lives, every day. Being part of a pioneering Cyber function you will be a key participant in the design and delivery of a variety of strategic programmes and business critical initiatives within a dynamic, challenging and rewarding environment.

You will have the opportunity to be involved in leading edge and innovative programmes where technology plays a crucial and increasingly strategic role. You will be part of large scale engagements where change and evolution of services contribute to this fascinating, and demanding environment.

Key Responsibilities:

* Shaping and building strategic system architecture road-maps with senior stakeholders, corralling support and backing for them and driving alignment with Portfolio road-maps;

* Applying and adapting your system design skills to switch focus between specific areas of business challenge or opportunity, spanning a range of existing and emerging technologies including (but not limited to) applications, middleware, cloud computing, search, machine automation and analytics;

* Growing and managing the system knowledge base, through the development of data models, standards and the design and implementation of processes and tools that drive coherent, consistent and value-adding use of the architectures;

* Understand & interpret business or technical requirements and translate these into defined system models;

* Produce system designs from concept through to high level design;

* Demonstrate good knowledge of IP systems, telecoms systems, protocols, communications data traffic volumes and data rates;

* Have understanding of how Lawful Intercept systems works;

* Have understanding of how to process big data, particularly using cloud computing;

* Have understanding of big data storage methods, particularly using cloud computing;

* Have understanding of what communications data a CSP may have access to in their systems;

* Have the ability to talk technically to CSPs system designers & enterprise architects;

* Develop a common understanding of the system needs through relevant stakeholder engagement;

* Carry out information / data modelling and analysis and ensure that system models support the business analysis or are technically fit for purpose;

* Promote the use and adoption of the system architecture strategies and standards across a broad stakeholder group;

Key Skills:

* Delivery of complex capabilities (people, process, infrastructure, technology and facilities) in challenging operational environments.

* End to end management of solutions from requirements capture, design, build, test, deploy, operate and transition to support.

* Experience of Systems Engineering modelling and Enterprise Architecture (for example MODAF /TOGAF).

* Identification, mitigation planning and management of Engineering Risks.

Knowledge and understanding of:

- Mobile Telecommunication Networks (in particular 3G and 4G-LTE)

- Internet Protocol (IP) Networks and Technology

- Carrier Grade Network Address Translation (CGNAT)

*Ability and experience of leading and managing people;

*Ability to build strategic relationships internally;

*Strong analytical skills;

*Strong stakeholder management skills;

*Experience of managing risk effectively;

*Ability to make clear plans, evaluate progress and articulate appropriately to the team and stakeholders;

*Ability to communicate clearly and articulate ideas;

*Experience of influencing through the decision making process;

*Evidence of adding value to customers;
