The Company

With a proud heritage and over fifty years of success, our client is a pioneering manufacturer of precision lawnmowers. They are a wholly British-owned company and they serve a broad customer base, from the avid gardener to the world’s most famous sports grounds.

Now, they are looking for a Product Design Engineer to join their team in Hixon.

The Role

As a Product Design Engineer, you will support our client’s product design process, focusing on battery-powered products.

In this creative mechanical design role, you’ll work with a team who are continuously working towards innovative solutions that delight customers.

Specifically, you will:

- Work on projects, from inception to completion

- Liaise with customers to help understand their needs and identify their requirements

- Get involved with innovation workshops

- Create 3D CAD models and drawings in SolidWorks

- Design products in-line with safety standards

- Organise the construction of prototypes to present your design ideas

About You

To be considered as a Product Design Engineer, you will need:

- A good understanding of mechanical product design and manufacturing principles

- The ability to interpret mechanical and/or electrical drawings and tolerances

- An HNC qualification, ideally an HND or degree, or equivalent experience

- A practical, hands-on approach

- A full, valid driving licence

- A passion for innovative design

Ideally, you’ll also have electrical knowledge, but this is not essential.
