A Senior Linux System Engineer is required to join a well established team based in London. We are looking for individuals with experience in working in an enterprise environment and posses strong technical, organisational and communication skills.

You will be work as part of the infrastructure team and work on multiple projects within the infrastructure space.

You will ensure high availability of design and maximum performance of the infrastructure in use and provide support to the overall business.

Responsbilities & Duties:

You will establish the Windows and Linux environment by designing system configuration, directing system installation, defining, documenting and enforcing system standards. In addition to this you will design and implement new solutions and improve resilience of the current environment.

You will also maximise server performance by monitoring performance, troubleshooting problems and outages whilst scheduling upgrades and collaborating with architects on network optimisation.

You will investigate faults of the Linux environment using multiple sources.

You will aid securing systems by establishing and enforcing policies, and defining and monitoring access.

You will also be expected to help in upgrading servers and software to the latest stable releases.

Requirements:

Experience in and IT Systems Administration role or similar

Knowledge or configuration management, ideally Ansible

Strong scripting, system security and Automation skills

Experience in implementation and system administration of a diverse OS environment

Hands on experience in Virtualisation and Cloud solutions: eg. VMWare, Azure, AWS

TCP/IP and network/security component knowledge: eg. Switches, Firewalls, VPNs

Knowledge of core Infrastructure services and functions such as DNS, DHCP, LDAP

Experience with configuration and maintenance of standard IT system administration tools such as deployment, backup, anti-virus, remote access and authentication solutions
