Head of Application and Infrastructure Support - Public Sector - London - 6 months+

A great opportunity has arisen for an experienced Manager to join a higher education organisation in central London and be responsible for the management, design, implementation, support and ongoing improvement of the University's Business Applications and IT Infrastructure, ensuring that these applications, services and processes are efficient, effective, and meet defined and agreed service levels.

Experience:

*Educated to degree level or equivalent experience.

*ITIL V3 Intermediate Certificate essential

*Good knowledge and experience of IT Infrastructure, comprising networks (WAN, LAN and wireless), firewalls, servers (physical and virtual), SANs, data centres, and related services across a diverse and complicated organisation.

*Experience of designing and implementing new and changed IT Infrastructure services

*Good knowledge and experience of the managing, operating and improving business application support services.

*Experience in the day-to-day management of a diverse staff team including the identification of training, performance management and staff development.

*Ability to manage, motivate and engage staff successfully to deliver professional, high quality, and customer focused service support.

*Excellent communication skills and the ability to communicate with a diverse range of both internal and external stakeholders both verbally and in writing.

*Proven experience of customer and supplier relation management

*An understanding of the role and purpose of IT within HE
