Solutions Architect

My nationally recognised and market leading retail client is looking for an experience Solutions Architect to join the IT team based in Burton upon Trent.

The Solutions Architect will support the implementation of quality IT solutions that create business opportunities and maximise business benefits through careful optimisation of system, business process and management information changes.

Key Responsibilities:

*Support the new request process by researching and recommending pragmatic technical solutions; highlighting any technical considerations for solution delivery.

*Support the Project Delivery process by working on a range of IT and business initiatives to deliver solutions to meet the business opportunities.

*Working with the business analysts, project teams and the business, to research IT solutions on the market for particular technical requirements and business needs.

*Creating and updating the solution and technical system architecture requirements based on changing technologies, and knowledge related to recent, current and up-coming vendor products and solutions.

*Creating the Data Architecture relevant to the product being selected and understanding the relationships between the data and the processes, and architecting that to meet GDPR requirements.

*Developing policies, standards and guidelines that direct the selection, development implementation and use of IT where a gap is identified.

*Collaborating with all relevant parties in order to review the objectives and constraints of each solution, recommending the most suitable technical architecture and defining the solution at a high level.

*Identifying implementation risks and analysing potential impact on the enterprise and on the achievement of scheduled objectives.

Skills & Experience:

*Comprehensive knowledge of hardware, software, applications and system engineering.

*Ability to process information quickly and accurately and work independently to propose solutions to problems.

*Great commercial acumen with a creative problem solving approach.

*Ability to find effective technology solutions to business problems.

*Ability to provide clear, simple, unambiguous and well-structured communication; dealing confidently with all areas and levels within our business.

*Meet customers' needs whilst setting achievable expectations and designing pragmatic solutions.

*Ability to explain complex technical issues in a way that non-technical people may understand.

*Knowledge of Data Protection, GDPR legislations and Privacy by Design.

*Significant experience of providing the technical lead for major technology implementations.

*Experience in third party supplier management.

*Experience of working within a framework of IT Governance, Technical Design Authority and Change Advisory Boards.

*Strongly customer and business focused with exceptional stakeholder management skills.

*Strong interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills.

*Able to engage the IT technical team with great enthusiasm.

*Highly self-motivated and directed, with keen attention to detail.

*Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities.

*Able to effectively prioritize tasks in a high-pressure environment.
