An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced IT auditor to join the Group Security function at Cambridge Assessment. The successful candidate will scope and conduct technical audits of the organisation’s IT. The successful candidate will need to contribute to shaping the IT audit plan, collaborate with colleagues from Group Security and IT and produce detailed reports and briefs to platform owners.

The Group Security department is still in its infancy and is growing and evolving, so it is an exciting time to join the function and influence the growth and purpose of this function. This new function was created to ensure that a holistic approach is taken to security and maximum benefit can be sought from a multi-disciplined approach to security.

Group Security is focused on protecting and providing resilience to Cambridge Assessment’s people, information, assets and premises globally. The successful applicant will make a significant contribution to the objectives of the department by assessing the security of IT assets and providing ongoing assurance to relevant stakeholder.

What you will be doing

          Liaise with key stakeholders to develop a risk based technical audit plan

          Scope, plan and conduct technical audits on IT systems to identify security risks and weaknesses in applications, platforms and processes

          Plan, manage and implement agreed audit findings and ensure reports of assurance are produced and communicated to relevant stakeholders on time

          Liaise with and conduct audits of processes involving third parties to ensure adherence to security policies and procedures

          Provide technical security consultancy to stakeholders for projects, ensuring appropriate controls are in place and identifying minimum requirements

          Contribute to the Group Security Risk Management process

          Contribute to the continuous improvement process (which includes audit findings) to ensure improvement and efficiencies within Group Security are achieved

What we’re looking for

          Qualifications in audit such as CISA or IAA. IT governance, such as CRISC or CISA are highly desirable

          Experience of scoping, planning and conducting technical IT audits to a high standard

          Experience of leading and managing audit findings through to satisfactory remediation

          Strong planning and organisational skills

          Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to liaise with audiences at various levels/grades of the business and build a strong and credible reputation within the organisation

          Ability to work under limited supervision and have the initiative and drive to achieve continuous improvement whilst understanding when to refer to the Line Manager for guidance

          Positive, can-do attitude whilst remaining calm under pressure

          A collaborative and understanding approach to working

          Self-motivated and driven

          Uses own initiative to provide successful outcomes
