The Job:

We have a requirement for a Communications Systems Engineer to undertake communications engineering design, development, system integration, and test and acceptance activities to support Maritime communication systems in the underwater C4I domain

Key Accountabilities:

You will be responsible for successfully applying current knowledge to development of legacy and current military-specific communications technologies in support of planned and future military communication installations to the MOD.

As part of a Support function you will aid in developing communication architecture solutions across the frequency spectrum. You will play a key role in the installation and integration of equipment in a range of military and commercial platforms and undertake test and evaluation of equipment and solutions in a lab environment.

An essential part of you role will be producing technical documents in support of work carried out and ensuring these meet the current regulations.

Your responsibilities will include input to design and development of both works and trials within the operation of communication systems, across the full spectrum. This will include Line of Site, Beyond Line of Site and Mobile Technologies.

Managing, planning and structuring your own work and reporting back to the Project Manager/ Lead Engineer.

You will directly engage with relevant customer and stakeholders

Knowledge, Skills and Experience:

* Educated to degree level in an Engineering or Communications discipline

* A Good understanding of Systems Engineering Principles

* Good understanding of procedures and concepts within own discipline and a basic knowledge of these elements in other disciplines

* Ability to work with a diverse range of teams and to also undertake tasks unsupervised/manage own workload.

* Sound and comprehensive communications skills are required in order to exchange complex information
