Agile Delivery Manager, Public Sector (Outside IR35), 3+ Months, Central London

As an Agile Delivery Manager within the IT modernization project focusing specifically on the iphone roll out you are primarily responsible for are for the high performance of a highly-skilled multidisciplinary team delivering a specific product, service or transformation.

You will operate in a small, agile team of developers, designers, content people to build minimum viable products (MVP's), then iterate - always asking how we can collectively make things better for users, who are at the centre of everything we do.

The scope of your responsibilities

* you work in a collaborative team setting the priorities and developing the programme roadmap

* you coach agile programme and project planning always ensuring that the project and sprint plans are feasible and in line with programme priorities

* you ensure the team is properly staffed to deliver the workload demanded of it by ensuring that sprint plans, and portfolio commitments are proportionate to our resource, and support bids for further resource and recruitment where necessary

* you coordinate team reporting on impact and outcomes, helping us to design projects that produce this information automatically, minimising our reporting burden

* you ensure working practices are iterated to achieve effective delivery

* you have responsibility for the translation and measurement of value (what you put in and what you will get out) and how this relates to project objectives and the user needs

* you are able to advocate and communicate what a team does to create trust and authenticity;

* you react successfully to meet our key challenges

* you solve issues and unblock problems

* you drive the team and set the pace, ensuring the team are working towards delivery commitments; you're responsible for communicating the plan, planning assumptions and progress to a range of stakeholders

* you build strong delivery capability through understanding the team style and how colleagues work together

* you create an open and collaborative environment to work in, be flexible, adaptable and have a willingness to learn.

The person specification

* You have a combination of following skills, experience and knowledge complimented by your vision and active thought leadership;

* you will have a proven track record of success as a Delivery Manager having operated in Agile environments;

* you will have a deep knowledge and can lead others on a range of Agile and Lean tools and techniques; you'll also be able to evidence your ability to coach within and outside of their team;

* you have previous experience of being an advocate for Agile tools and techniques and you keep up to date with the latest trends;

* you will have previous experience of establishing feedback loops for teams and you have extensive experience of communicating effectively across organisational, technical and political boundaries;

* you'll have experience of digital product delivery;

* you proactively address and manage risk, dependencies and outcomes;
