Position: Software Specialist R&D Consultant

Location: London

Salary: £400000 - £50000 per annum

Job type: Permanent

As a Software Specialist R&D Consultant, youll be expected to build on your deep understanding of the R&D Tax Relief scheme, and get stuck in helping clients to get the best out of Client within a few weeks. Youll be at a pivot point between our sales and delivery teams, often accompanying clients on their journey with us from initial conversations right through to funding.

A few months in, on an average day, you might:

Research a companys technology as preparation for a sales call (with a salesperson)

Attend a meeting with the tech cofounder at a new prospect and discuss with them exactly which part of their technology qualifies for R&D Tax Credits and how to best navigate the scheme

Occasionally, write a few pages of technical narrative explaining these challenges in simple terms for HMRC

Participate in enquiries to explain to HMRC our rationale for why a certain development qualifies

REQUIREMENTS:

Experience developing software as part of a team across the software development life cycle

Several years or equivalent experience in delivering tax credits claim, including solid knowledge of the CIRD

Knowledge of multiple technology stacks helpful

Comfortable speaking both on the phone and in front of clients, prospects and HMRC

Happy to get stuck into in-depth debates about very specific technical matters

Impeccable writing skills

Passion for learning new technologies

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

Non-Negotiable skills:

Fullstack exposure / Development experience

Tax credit exposure

Understand accounting

Have a genuine interest in accounting and finance.
