Network Consultant to be based in Edinburgh on an initial 6 Month contract. Experienced Network Consultant to work on complex customer IT Networking projects from planning, design to implementation. Strong knowledge of Cisco, SAN and WAN.

Position responsibilities and expectations
* Leads or participates in the successful delivery of complex customer IT Networking projects from planning, design to implementation.
* Solves complex, cross-functional issues that cross technologies in network, server, storage, O/S, virtualization, consolidation, middleware, security applications, operations, content switching, caching and/or content delivery networks and security.
* Applies good analytic process to help bring any issue to resolution. Ability to synthesize complexities into clear communication and action plans
* Provides technical networking expertise for Client customer projects.
* Working closely with customer teams and Client customer account teams across the UKI region.
* Continuously focuses on project delivery excellence and high level of customer satisfaction
* Build tight working relationship with CIS PS offshore networking delivery teams.
* Delivers migration plans migrations and upgrades, has therefore a thorough understanding on networked applications and related dependencies
* Good business judgment, a comfortable, open communication style, and a willingness and ability to work with customers and teams.
* The candidate will be part of CIS PS in the UKI region, providing technical networking expertise within the team.
Technical Skills required
* Understanding of networking architectures, experience in planning, design & implementation of Data Center and cloud networking infrastructures.
* Will be able to design, deploy & support Cisco products with hands-on experience in operation and configuration of Cisco network devices (e.g. routers, switches, Load Balancers, Storage Networks, Application Optimizers and Servers)
* Catalyst 6500 & other catalyst platforms product architecture knowledge and hands on experience is a must
* Experience in SAN switches, storage arrays, Cisco ISE, virtual network, software defined network, Nexus switches, load balancers(ACE etc.) and WAN optimization appliances is a plus
* Experience in leading a team in applying all elements of Technical Consulting
* Excellent communication & interpersonal skills
* Experience in building and designing large multi-protocol inter-networks
* Demonstrated industry awareness
* Must be comfortable making Disaster Recovery Models or recommendations.
* Understanding of Datacenter and Cloud applications
Consulting skills required
* Passionate, persuasive, articulate data center technical professional capable of quickly establishing interest and credibility in how to design, deploy and operate server based technologies within the virtualized data center of the future.
* Strong written, verbal and chalk board skills
* Experience in working in Prince2 or PMI methodology managed projects.
* Experience in enterprise applications, solutions and data center & cloud infrastructures.
* Understands and can articulate the technical merits and value of data center virtualization
* Strong customer-interaction skills and architectural skills.
* Ability to quickly establish credibility and excitement with data center personnel, as well as work collaboratively and in a hands-on manner with technical professionals.
* Proven ability to document appropriate technical information to serve as base for training, technical operations run books and knowledge objects.
Degrees/Certifications Earned
* Prefer at least 4 years undergrad degree with strong success in Maths, Engineering and/or IT areas
* CCNP mandatory, CCIE Routing & Switching Preferred
* VCP Certification a plus
Other
* Minimum of 5 year experience as a networking consultant or engineer.
* Exposure and working level knowledge of working with and interfacing to global delivery teams
