As one of the nation’s most loved brands, Comic Relief is at an exciting and transformational stage in its development.
We’re becoming a creative agency for a social change; one that’s proud to be bold, confident and even edgy; harnessing creativity to better effect, embrace talent, connect globally, engage and empower many more people in our mission.
Whilst serving our existing audience refreshed comedy content and entertaining ways to give and participate via our flagship events of Red Nose Day and Sport Relief, we are also looking to develop new ways to engage new and existing audiences. Our aim is to attract the next generation to do, buy, care and donate.
As a Mid-Weight Engineer, you will participate in the planning, development, delivery and operation of our digital products, ensuring their delivery is secure, scalable and efficient, helping us to achieve these goals.
You could be helping us design software solutions to improve internal processes, developing public-facing digital products or even contributing to open-source projects that will benefit the charity sector as a whole. You’ll be part of the team that has vertical ownership of the whole software stack of individual products and platforms.
The right candidate will have experience with the following:
- React
- Node
- Drupal 8 / Twig template engine
- SASS/LESS/CSS preprocessing
- HTML5
- Javascript
- Continuous delivery
- Agile methodology
- E2E testing
Experience with the following would also be desirable:
- API Development
- PaaS
- IaaS
- Cloud infrastructure provision
This is an opportunity to join a friendly, creative and dynamic team focused on delivering social change through our own specialised skill set. The relatively small size of the Digital & Innovation department not only gives us a great level of autonomy in the work and technical choices we make, but also enhances the sense of comradery. Team lunches are a regular thing, and having Slack-based GIFs as your second language would certainly be a plus too.
