Summary of the role:

The Change Control Manager role manages all change requests which are both received and submitted to request changes to the products and systems supported by the Delivery Group.

The primary purpose of this role is to act as the main point of contact for external stakeholders to engage the Delivery Group and manage their expectations. Working with internal and external stakeholders the role will gain an understanding of all new work requirements and ensuring that the correct change control process is being followed. The role will also be responsible for resolving any blockers and issues to ensure smooth progress of work items, escalating to the Delivery Group Leadership Team where appropriate.

Responsibilities:

All aspects of change control:

* Ensuring all new change items are captured in the corporate change control solution (Clarity) and have followed the CDIO change control process.

* Providing guidance and governance regarding Change Control tools and processes to internal and external stakeholders

* Accountable for the timely distribution of the weekly Evaluation Group Agenda (which outlines the latest proposed changes) to Delivery Group Leads.

* Representing the Delivery Group at CDIO new work forums such as the Weekly Evaluation Group (WEG) and Work Approvals Group (WAG).

* Accountable for the collation of the Delivery Groups weekly assessment to feed into the WEG & WAG meetings.

* Acting as the rotating chair for the DTO WAG.

* Participating in the CDIO organisation wide change management improvement initiatives on behalf of the Delivery Group.

* Accountable for continuous improvements of the Delivery Group Change Control process, artefacts and tools including awareness sessions.

* Assisting in creating Change Requests (CR) for impacting.

* Ensuring timely triaging of new CRs received by the Delivery Group.

* Ensuring new CRs/Project impacts are actioned by the appropriate functional areas within the Delivery Group.

* Accountable for the entering of new work into the Resource Demand Forecasting Tool (RDT) and maintenance of statuses until work is approved and PM assigned.

* Representing Change control at the monthly internal Resource Demand Tool (RDT) meetings

* Accountable for Change Control communications including Ad-hoc queries and questions, Project announcements, new CDIO process changes, setting customer expectations and communicate and clarify engagement with CMDG to external stakeholders.

* Providing governance on how impacts are to be completed.

* Escalating issues appropriately to the Delivery Group SLT.

* Chasing outstanding internal and external impacts.

* Accountable for ensuring that external impacts are validated by appropriated resources within CMDG before submission

* Facilitating the internal weekly Delivery Group Change Board.

* Accountable for reporting on Change Control KPIs and measures.

* Working closely with change Control Analyst to ensure the smooth running of the Change Control function

* Previous experience of change/new work management (not cultural change)

* Proactive, working on his/her own initiative

* Communicate fluently, orally and in writing, with ability to present complex and sensitive information to both technical and non-technical audiences

Desirable Knowledge, Criteria and Skills

* Understanding or previous experience of finance, commercial and resourcing aspects

* Experience of Software development cycles

* Understanding of Project management frameworks

* Knowledge of Agile and Lean concepts as applied at scale

* Commercial awareness with demonstrable experience of operating within commercial restraints

* Knowledge of application of formal project management methodology (e.g. Prince 2).
