Contract IBM Tivoli Monitoring Engineer - London City - up to £500 p/d

Banking - initial 6-month term

This is an excellent opportunity to join a very honourable international banking group that respects employees. A stable bank, strong on liquidity and with good IT budgets during a build phase over the next few years. As a Monitoring Tools SME, you will specialise in IBM Tivoli, Omnibus, Netcool to provide Environmental Tuning, Architecture design and high level 3rd line support when needed.

Key responsibilities:

Solution design and implementation to meet specific project infrastructure monitoring needs.

Technical escalation and 3rd line troubleshooting for the tools managed by the team, including Tivoli Monitoring.

Create and maintain all support documents for monitoring environment

Monitor and tune environments to ensure optimum performance.

Plan and execute regular system functional design testing to ensure availability and reliability.

Assist with providing environmental statistics and reporting functionality.

Architectural design and product road mapping

Environment Management

Capacity and Availability Management

ITIL Foundation certified or above

Experience of administering IBM Tivoli monitoring environment, including Netcool and Omnibus products ideally.

Experience with design and delivery of infrastructure (hardware and application) monitoring

Ability to provide a technical evaluation of user requirements across multiple IT disciplines.

Assist with and lead white board type design and review sessions.

Experience within the banking / financial sector is highly desirable

This role may suit someone who has held one of the following roles in the past - IBM Tools Developer, TSM Analyst, Tivoli Environment Manager, Capacity Analyst, IBM Architect
