Data Architect

My market leading and award winning client is looking for an experienced and passionate Data Architect to join their growing Architecture Team within IT services at their head office in Banbury, Oxfordshire.

The Data Architect will be a point of consultation for Data related projects and evangelise how Data can support the business strategic initiatives including the ownership and implementation of the data strategy. You will design and develop standard processes for integrating data and applications, lead the creation of data governance policies and processes within IT and the Business and provide general technical advice on Data related technologies.

Key Responsibilities:

*Develop an understanding of the current infrastructure, applications and environments. Understand how Data related technologies can be leveraged to help achieve the IT strategy.

*Assist and be responsible for governance through Technical Design Authority to ensure solutions are implemented in-line with the data strategy and deliver data artefacts in support of portfolio deliveries.

*Collaborate with business and IT stakeholders to formulate and assess ideas for new and improved solutions and input into prioritisation, impact analysis, estimates and scheduling.

*Perform analysis of business requirements to generate architectural design for new and amended Data solutions.

*Perform analysis of business requirements to generate architectural design for new and amended Data solutions.

*Ensure that all designs are in line with agreed architectural standards, policies, principles and project artefacts.

*Support the testing and verification of all Data solutions to ensure that requirements have been met, and solutions conform to design standards.

*Develop standards, processes, quality and performance criteria for Data solutions to ensure consistency across the environment.

*Work with the architecture team and other members of the operations team to create and maintain a strategic roadmap for Data solutions.

Key Skills and Experience required:

*Knowledge/experience of RDBMS, NoSQL and Big Data technologies such as SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL, T-SQL, R, MDX, DAX languages.

*Extensive experience with in at least some of the following: Data Modelling, Business Intelligence and Analytics, Data Quality and Data Governance, Data Integration and Architecture.

*Understand the differences between IaaS, PaaS and SaaS solutions.

*Some working experience of Visual Studio or other development environment.

*Any knowledge of Data Science and predictive modelling would be great but is not essential.

*Knowledge of TOGAF would also be advantageous
