Role
The primary responsibilities of the Head of Portfolio & Programme Delivery are to provide leadership, delivery and assurance that programmes and projects are delivered, controlled and that successful delivery is achieved on-time, on-budget and to requirements.
Experience
This role will suit someone who possesses Portfolio, Programme and/or Project Management experience and has experience in the delivery of successful programmes. projects and associated disciplines. This will be underpinned by a solid understanding of IT infrastructure and its application within the healthcare environment.
Duties
This role will use a range of technical and managerial skills to:
Define, develop, monitor, maintain and manage the project delivery lifecycle
Devise, organise and implement high value programmes and projects that are complex in nature
Simultaneously manage multiple programme and project streams to delivery
Develop business cases, initiation documents, requirement specifications, financial and resource plans, and all other artefacts required to support the approval and delivery of programme and projects.
Successfully manage a team of project managers and build engineers
Resolve high-level issues relating to programme and project delivery
Coach and support project managers and third parties in the application of their duties to ensure project delivery
Maintain strict control and oversight of financial controls
Ensure programmes and projects are delivered under strict governance and delivery controls
Assure that disaster recovery processes for core infrastructure services and systems are available, workable and can delivered within agreed timeframe(s)
Provide consultancy services as required
Provide input to ad hoc initiatives and projects as required
Liaise with suppliers and technical specialists as required
Provide consultancy, training, education, information and support on specific technical related subjects as required
Ensure that correct finance and resource controls are in place to ensure successful planning, delivery and post product support arrangements.
