Candidates will be joining a team of front and back end developers working on a social care finance system composed of a suite of applications interacting with a large and complex SQL Server database back-end. The primary technologies are WinForms and SQL Server, with additional components written using Asp.Net MVC, EntityFramework (6 and Core), WebApi, WCF, JavaScript (Knockout, React), Xamarin with Xamarin.Forms and Asp.Net WebForms 2.

Experience in both of the following are therefore essential:

* An object-oriented language such as C#, Java or C++.

* Database design and programming, ideally with Microsoft SQL Server. Candidates must be fully conversant with developing stored procedures, triggers, views, functions, indexes, constraints and keys.

Knowledge in the following areas would also be advantageous:

* HTML and CSS, with a good understanding of front-end best practices and accessibility considerations.

An interest in all parts of the product life cycle, from specification and design to implementation, will be beneficial.

Although the role is not a client-facing one, strong communication and interpersonal skills are important since successful candidates will interact with various teams within the product, including implementation managers, support and installations.
