Client Overview
Great SQL Server DBA opportunity to work within a fast paced and dynamic environment for a successful SME that provides web based and mobile software solutions to their blue chip clients.
They are happy to consider an experienced DBA or a SQL Server professional looking to move into a fully-fledged DBA role.Requirements
DBA experience on MS SQL SVR 2008R2 (or later):
-- SQL Server configuration, high availability, security and database file management
-- Debugging, profiling, tracing
-- T-SQL authoring - Stored Procedures, Triggers, extract/report scripts
-- Execution plans & query optimisation, Indexing strategies
-- SSIS
-- Replication
-- SQL Server Agent scheduling of routine tasks
Operational DBA experience good-to-have (physical, networking, installations etc.)
Agility to quickly switch between development, analysis and support based activities
Able to work within a team framework as well as under own supervision
Ability to work in both physical and virtual Development/Support teams

Desirable
Business intelligence - Data warehousing, ETL, SSRS (SAP/BO advantageous)
Data modelling, database design

Job Details
                                                             Deliver the highest levels of pro-active and reactive support to the management, development and support teams to ensure that IT exceeds all possible standards of service covering 24x7 operations
                                                             Strive towards the highest possible service standards and help maintain and improve on existing levels of service availability resolving incidents within agreed SLA's
                                                             Act as the focal point for all database, data warehouse and reporting environment development & support related issues, both within the business and in collaboration with its key trading partners
                                                             Responsible for ensuring the Incident & Change Management functions are integrated into day-to-day DBA operations whilst adopting Microsoft best practices
                                                             Ensure the stability and security of the data environment with responsibility for day-to-day operations, performance optimisation, data security and disaster recovery processes
