Business Objects (BO) Developer

Salary - £25k - £35k - 6 Month fixed term contract initially

Folkestone, Kent

As a preferred supplier to this recognisable organisation based in Folkestone, we have been trusted to source a Systems Consultant to work on a permanent basis. This exciting opportunity will suit an individual well versed to an Agile environment, working on both new Projects and Business as Usual maintenance. The successful individual will be expected to work well within a medium sized team but show ability to manage own workload.

Requirements

*Excellent designer of Business Objects reports and universes in Business Objects 4.2.

*WEBI and Dashboard report design - Lumira is desirable.

*Proven trouble shooting, debugging and analytical skills.

*Sound understanding of the various product ranges within the Travel business.

*Ability to present complex data in an easily accessible way exploiting charts and other visual tools.

*Ability to think laterally about how data analyses can yield insight.

*Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines.

*Strong IT and software skills including a sound understanding of TAURUS & Microsoft Office programmes (Excel, PowerPoint, Access) and analytical tools.

*SQL / PowerQuery knowledge desirable.

Responsibilities

*Responsibility for the creation, production and interpretation of MI reports to the business for Travel. Ensuring that all daily, weekly, monthly and ad hoc MI and analysis is published to agreed deadlines.

*Accountable for the accurate and timely core MI reporting to the Travel and Group Exec.

*Consolidation of delivery of key MI around the business into Finance.

*Develop/source, maintain and improve systems/reports for data analysis based on Taurus and other data sources.

*Build / write Business Objects reports and provide support to Travel business staff, with regards to MI reporting and design of Business Objects Universes.

*Train members of the MI team in how to write Business Objects reports.

*Focus on report development work, working through priority list and delivering new reporting / improvements for Finance.

*Be responsible for existing and new reports / dashboards.

*Managing large data sets.

*Various ad-hoc exercises and reports affecting the Travel business.

*Full support given to the MI & Analytics Manager.

*Other adhoc analysis/projects as and when required.
