Deployment Engineer - Implementation and Installation - Transport Platforms - SDH - DWDM - Ethernet - PRO / Inventory Systems - ISP - Fibre Optics - Telecoms - LLD - Networks

My client, a leading Telecoms and Internet Service Provider are seeking a Deployment Engineer to undertake the implementation and deployment of new installations for a variety of Transport platforms across the EMEA region.

Key Tasks:

* Undertakes the implementation and deployment of new installations for a variety of Transport platforms across the EMEA region to support site exits.

* Uses internal systems to create Low Level Design work packages that support new hardware installations and maintains data integrity in the internal deployed network databases.

* Create and manage purchases as required for new network builds, liaising with Logistics to ensure timely delivery and utilizing internal systems for tracking and shipping of equipment for new installations.

* Report regularly on new infrastructure project status.

* Undertakes Transport Deployment tasks to test and turn up new network to support site exits.

* Works under minimal supervision, performs a wide spectrum of complex assignments requiring alternative analysis, innovation and judgment.

* Self-motivated individual with strong analytical and design skills

* Assumes responsibility for contribution to the success of major or multiple projects.

* Strong customer focus with excellent inter-personal skills

* Ability to effectively present and receive complex information with attention to detail, to ensure data integrity is maintained, and to give clear an unambiguous instructions when scheduling tasks to remote hands

Technology knowledge requirements

* Excellent understanding of SDH (Synchronous Digital Hierarchy) and DWDM (Dense Wavelength Division Multiplexing )technologies

* Excellent understanding of Ethernet

* Knowledge of PRO and other relevant Centurylink inventory systems

* Effective time management and prioritisation skills with the ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously

* PC skills and be well versed in Microsoft Windows and Office applications

* Needs to have functional knowledge of Inside Plant (ISP) disciplines, fibre optic, electrical and other related telecom practices conforming to Industry standards

Please note:

* Position may require some travel and overtime requirements as dictated by business demands.

* May be required to work outside of standard hours as required by management

* All Transport Deployment activities are performed in line with pre-defined objectives, often quantified in metric terms, it is essential in this role the contractor understands and performs against the departmental and company targets
